An optional rule in backgammon; according to this rule, a player, who has just accepted a double, may redouble and retain possession of the cube, as long as the dice have not been rolled yet. The player who offered the original double may refuse the beaver and resign the game, losing the doubled stakes; or else, accept the beaver and continue with the original stakes quadrupled.
