Crawford Rule

This backgammon rule is named after its inventor, John R. Crawford. The rule limits the doubling cube use, in the one game that takes place after a player comes within 1 point from winning the match. The purpose of it is to reward the player, who gets to match point sooner, by not permitting his opponent to double. This rule became a standard rule of match play.
