One of the special backgammon rules, popular in backgammon for money games (is not used in match play), initiated by Oswald Jacoby; the rule states that gammon and backgammon wins are calculated as a single game, if no double was offered during the game. The purpose of Jacoby rule is to accelerate the game’s rhythm by preventing situations, in which players avoid doubling, because they try to achieve gammon or backgammon.
