The act of transferring checkers according to dice numbers and backgammon rules. There are three kinds of moves in a backgammon game:
1. A counterclockwise motion, which includes a regular march, hitting and blocking.
2. Re-entering from the bar after being hit.
3. Removing checkers from the board at the bearoff stage.
